Maternity

Dear first time mama,

I hope your enjoying pregnancy so far and this beautiful journey of motherhood. Remember it’s only 9 months! Elephants carry for 22 months!!!

That’s me above, pregnant with my husband Sean and our daughter Charlie. Taken by a professional at Longue Vue Gardens . I’m happy to say I’m no longer pregnant but I wanted to share this photo with you. You see when my first daughter was born I didn’t take maternity photos.  Enter first child “maternity photos” below.

Instead I took artsy self portraits of myself. Which I love, but I did not frame or hang a single one up!  First time moms, I have been in yours shoes twice. I know what it’s like to be super pregnant and hot (hello Nola!) and the last thing you want to do is get in front of a camera. I get it!! My hope is that when you’re in front of my camera all that disappears. I want you to feel beautiful, confident, strong, and joyful. You deserve to feel all these things.

Maternity sessions are best scheduled within the 28-34 week window so you feel your best . With the Casey McMurray experience, hair and makeup are included.

What to wear:

A soft flowy dress, a  delicate robe, a chic kimono, a chiffon cape, tulle fabric, or even something as simple as a white bed sheet.

How to prepare

A couple days before your shoot we recommend cutting back on anything that contains too much sodium and drink lots of water to hydrate the skin.  The morning of your shoot wash your face in cold water to help reduce puffiness. Then sit back and relax as our talented hair and makeup artist arrives at your house to pamper you.

I want to share with you the wonderful opportunity of capturing the magical moments through maternity and newborn photography. These photos hold the power to create lasting memories that you and your child will cherish forever. Heirloom portraits for generations. Trust me when your little one looks at you with a huge smile on their face and they ask if that’s them in your belly you will be glad you took them!
